Megan as a Flutist


Megan Reich is a musician, teacher, and writer originally from Portland, Oregon. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in flute performance from the University of Minnesota, where she studies with Immanuel Davis. Megan is a 2017 graduate from the University of Puget Sound, where she received a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and a Bachelor of Science  in Biology.

At the University of Puget Sound, Megan was an active member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and various chamber ensembles. Her previous teachers include Karla Flygare and Martha Long. Megan has performed in masterclasses for Amy Porter, Jim Walker, Tara Helen O’Connor, and Jill Felber, among others. In November of 2016, Megan received Runner-Up/Alternate in the UPS Concerto-Aria Competition. Megan has also been a member of summer festivals and events including the Oregon Music Festival's Orpheus Academy (2018, 2017, 2015), Amy Porter’s Anatomy of Sound workshop (2017), Jim Walker's Beyond the Masterclass, the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir (2015), and the Marrowstone Music Festival (2014). Prior to her undergraduate career, Megan was assistant principal of the Portland Youth Philharmonic and a member of PYP Camerata.
